RAMBO

When: First Thursday of each month
Retired Active Men’s Breakfast Organization (RAMBO) meets the first Thursday of every month at Danby’s Sta-tion (750 Roosevelt Rd Glen Ellyn) for fellowship and friendship. The group helps serve one Lenten meal each year during our Lenten Study Series.

 

United Methodist Women

All women in our congregation are automatically a part of the United Methodist Women’s group. Dedi-cated to service, learning, and mission work, the women who participate in our local UMW help support a wide variety of local and global mission and outreach work. We have several circles within the local unit which meet at various times of day (morning, afternoon, evening). Watch the church calendar as pub-lished in the weekly worship folder for more detailed information about when and where each of the circles meet and when the general meetings for the entire unit occurs.

 

Women’s Wellness Retreat

When: September or October of each year
Each year the women of First Church travel to Racine, Wisconsin for a “women’s wellness retreat.” They explore different topics of spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of women. All women are encouraged to participate, but space is limited. If you are interested in going, please speak with Mary Kay Sheldon.

Friday Fest

When: First Friday of each month October through May
Friday Fest is a ministry among the retired and any who can join for lunch. They gather 1 p.m. on the first Friday of each month October through May at a different location to share a meal “Dutch-treat.” This is a great way to get to know folks and enjoy a lovely afternoon of friendship, food, and fun!
