Special Announcement: Worship Suspended for First Church
After several phone calls from the congregation and others, Worship for March 15 and March 22 is suspended; We may suspend for March 29 as well. Guidance from public health officials will be followed closely while we decide. Please watch for updates.
We will be offering a streaming worship service next Sunday, March 22. Pastor Daniel and other pastors in the area will join together to offer this to our congregations next Sunday.
Pastor Daniel will be publishing a daily #MorningsOnTheFrontPorch devotion every day, starting on Sunday, March 15, through this crisis and using his podcast of the same name for some of the ministry and programs we had planned. Further details will be published tomorrow. You can always visit his webpage, www.thecuriouspastor.net, to read the posts and listen to the podcasts. You may follow the hashtag devotional, #MorningsOnTheFrontPorch, on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vero, and Linked-in. The podcasts may be found on RadioPublic, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and many other podcast platforms.
Tomorrow, March 15: Please remain at home. Pastor Daniel will be at the building in the morning to greet anyone who does not get this message. Please share this information with other members of the congregation.
Thank you for understanding this extraordinary measure we are taking in order to help slow or halt the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Finally, please pray for:
those who are suffering because of this disease
those who are working tirelessly in hospitals and clinics
the public health officials developing strategies and plans to slow the spread
for ourselves that we would not let fear overwhelm being faithful and just with our neighbors, each other, and our selves.
Welcome to First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn!
First Church welcomes all to the life and fellowship of our congregation! We tried to make a list of everyone who is welcome, and we couldn't make it long enough. No matter the circumstances of your life, you are welcome here!
The mission of First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
We follow three simple princples to guide our living: Do no harm. Do good. Stay in love with God. Those three simple rules laid out by our founder, John Wesley, guide our life together and our engagement with our community and our world.
If you are planning a wedding, seeking the baptism of a child, in need of pastoral leadership and care at the time of death, or have other needs of this nature, our pastoral staff is ready to assist both members of the congregation and members of the community.
